Lake Tahoe snowboarding is more popular than ever. Winter sports are quickly and easily taking over this region which used to be popular for its year round entertainment and summer outdoor activities. However, ski resorts and snowboarding slopes are creating a high demand in the tourist industry for winter activities and enjoyment of the snow more than the sunshine.

There are about twice as many visitors to Lake Tahoe in the winter months as there are in the summer time, and many of those visitors are local visitors, who are on day trips or weekend excursions.

Lake Tahoe snowboarding and skiing offers something for everyone. There are dozens of different ski resorts to choose from, including those which are designed for various skill levels and exclusive experiences. All you need to do is to take the time to check out your options and find the Lake Tahoe resort that offers what you need. After a day on the slopes, you can stay in one of the many lodges and enjoy an evening by a fire, or you can even rent a cabin in the woods or stay in a casino hotel and gamble the night away.

Most of the resorts that cater to Lake Tahoe snowboarding and skiing are located on the north end of the lake, which is approximately 80 miles from Reno. There are three resorts on the south side of the lake, which are the ones used for snowboarding and skiing by those who stay in South Lake Tahoe rather than venturing to the north side. These resorts include Kirkwood, Sierra-at-Tahoe, and one other resort that are all designed with the best in skiing and snowboarding in mind for the guests who visit. Ski resorts are hard to come by, even with so many options, so it is recommended that you book your stay plenty of months in advance, just to be sure that you’re able to get the location that you want.

Lake Tahoe snowboarding is becoming ever popular, mostly due to the fame of many snowboarders, allowing alternative sports to take over the mainstream industry. Lake Tahoe is a huge tourist town, so those who come for snowboarding have so much more to look forward when it comes to getting the vacation that you want and need when you come to Lake Tahoe. Whether you choose snowboarding by day and gambling by night, or just having dinner at one of the more than 40 restaurants, you can be sure to enjoy your vacation in Lake Tahoe.
