Ripleys Aquarium Of The Smokies Gatlinburg
On your next visit to the Smoky Mountains and the Gatlinburg resort area, you may want to take in something a little different and visit Ripley’s Aquarium Of The Smokies which is right close to the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I say this is a bit of a different attraction because the Gatlinburg Smoky Mountains area is known for its camping, hiking, cycling, whitewater rafting and many more outdoor sports and activities, but the Aquarium is well worth seeing and will be something you and your family will remember about your Gatlinburg vacation for many years to come.
Ripley’s Aquarium features some 10,000 sea creatures from more than 350 species. There are actually more fish in the Gatlinburg Ripley’s Aquarium than there are people living in Gatlinburg itself. There is also lots more to see at Ripleys than just aquariums and sea creatures. There is a rainforest, the Gallery Of The Seas, Systems Control, Shark Lagoon, Stingray Bay, Discovery Center, Ocean Realm, Coral Reef and more. This aquarium is so big, its water control systems filter more water in a day than does the entire coty of Gatlinburg.
There are several events going on year round at Ripley’s and you can even have a sleepover in the shark tank if you’d like. You can’t actually sleep in the tank, just in the tube that runs through it. Pretty cool, huh?
Ripleys Aquarium Of The Smokies is open year round 365 day and there hours are 9 am to 9 pm Sunday thru Thursday and 9 am to 11pm Friday and Saturday. Admission cost is $19.99 for adults 12 years old and older, $10.99 for children 6 thru 11 and $4.99 for children 2 to 5. That’s one of the least expensive attractions in the Smoky Mountains except for the national park so that’s an incredible deal to entertain the wold family on your next Gatlinburg vacation.
Don’t miss Ripley’s Aquarium.
